This Easter,
the girls and I were able to fly home to Michigan to visit my family. We
flew from Halifax to Washing Dulles (D.C.) and then Dulles to Detroit.
This was Katie's first plane ride and I made sure she was able to sit
next to the window. Well, from the time we took off until the time we
landed in Washington D.C., she never stopped talking! She was so excited
about being on the plane!
We had about an hour and a half in D.C. until we got
our connecting flight, so we had a late lunch and looked around in the
gift stores.
Once on the next plane, Katie was a chatterbox again.
She was really great on the plane, but I think everyone laughed at her
when she said "Mommy, is time to crash yet?" To her, a landing was
"crashing."
Well, we landed just fine in Detroit and met my parents
down by the baggage claim area. My girls were all hugs and kisses to
Meemaw and Pepaw, because we hadn't seen them in 9 months...that's the
longest we had ever gone without seeing each other. (Plus, it felt so
good to be home...it always feels good to go back home to the U.S.!)
Anyways, we had a great Easter at home. The girls got
to color eggs with Grandma and they all had a blast doing it. My mom
made an excellent Easter dinner (she's a wonderful cook and I learned a
lot from her!). I think we all had to waddle away from the dinner table
after that feast! HaHaHa.
It was a great trip home, and I don't think any of us
were ready to head back to Nova Scotia yet! |
